Too Far

No one is so important that they need to bring their Blackberry into the restroom and continue working on it.

I'm just saying.

heh heh heh. au contraire. they must be a legend in their own mind.

two jobs back, cell phones were handed out to a few team members who needed to be accessible 24/7. A friend reported that one day a mutual coworker entered the bathroom chatting away. The friend at first thought that someone was with said coworker, but no, the conversation was one-sided and my friend realized that he was overhearing a cell phone conversation.

Without pausing for a breath, the coworker continued chatting away while whizzing, flushing, and then leaving the establishment, leaving my friend shaking his head.

Sometimes, yes, it's ok not to be available, if only for a few minutes.

I echo eba's sentiment.

There's nothing weirder than sitting in a public restroom and listening to the person in the stall next to you have a loud, intensely private conversation on their cell phone.
