And yes, that was straight out of the camera. When I zoomed in more on the sunset the resulting photos were even redder, and have a very unreal quality.
I should also say that glimpsing red through the trees of our campsite is what urged me down to the dock to take photos. The colors were completely unexpected in their intensity! (And I grew up in the dessert southwest) I used to think that paintings I saw with such colors were exaggerated. Apparently not...
